Suspected DWI Collision on Waxahachie Street Kills 2 People [Houston, TX]

Houston, TX (June 9, 2023) On Wednesday evening, a suspected DWI collision on Waxahachie Street killed 2 people and sent 2 others to the hospital.

Houston Police Department says that the deadly T-bone collision happened around 6 p.m. in the 7000 block of Waxahachie Street, north of the East Freeway near Wayside Drive in northeast Houston.

Reports say that an eastbound white SUV traveling at high speed on Waxahachie Street struck a pole and went past a stop sign, T-boned a northbound four-door black vehicle.

The black vehicle’s occupants, a female Drive r, and a male passenger died at the scene, while a minor was taken to a hospital, as a precaution as there were no visible injuries.

Police did not say the relationship between the black vehicle’s occupants, but believed it a familial relationship.

Meanwhile, the driver of the white SUV was also taken to the hospital with no visible injuries but complained of pain and other health conditions. Police believe that the man was drunk, but had no prior arrests.
