COLFAX, WA (January 31, 2018) – The Washington State Patrol reported a pedestrian accident late Wednesday afternoon at around 3:45 PM on the intersection of Main Street and Harrison Street.

Tacoma man Duy Nguyen, 32, was crossing Main St on foot when he was struck by a 2009 Dodge Ram. The car, driven by 49-year-old Colfax man Robert Lowe, was turning southbound onto Main St from Harrison St.

Traffic was rerouted from Main St for several hours, while deputies conducted their investigation. They are unsure whether or not Nguyen was in the crosswalk at the time of the accident.

When driving in residential areas, it is very important to keep an eye out for pedestrians and cyclists on the road.
