Stolen Truck Involved in Collision Near Tuolumne Boulevard
MODESTO, CA (December 31, 2019) – Police arrested hit-and-run driver Dustin Degetaire after a crash on Yosemite Avenue on Tuesday morning.
According to the California Highway Patrol, the incident happened near Tuolumne Boulevard just before 10:00 AM.
Reports from the Modesto Police Department showed that Degetaire, 21, of Jamestown, drove recklessly in a stolen Toyota Tacoma when officers turned on their emergency lights to catch up to the truck. He then ran a stop sign and collided with a Volkswagen Passat driven by a 24-year-old woman.
The woman suffered serious injuries and needed hospitalization. A 3-year-old child, who was restrained in a child safety seat, had minor injuries.
Police arrested Degetaire for burglary, resisting arrest, vehicle theft, hit-and-run causing injuries and driving with a suspended license.
