Late Afternoon Collision on Highway 99 in Durham Injures Two
DURHAM, CA (February 14, 2019) – At least two people were injured following a multi-vehicle crash late Thursday afternoon in Durham.
The crash happened just after 5:00 p.m. on northbound Highway 99, just South of Neal Road.
According to the California Highway Patrol, a vehicle was traveling northbound when it lost control and swerved in front of another vehicle near the center divider. At least two other vehicles then got involved.
When officers arrived, they located one overturned vehicle on the right shoulder and two others were in the center divider. One vehicle also caught fire.
Two patients were found, one sustained a head injury and the other had chest and head injuries. A third occupant was found trapped inside a vehicle, unknown if injured in the crash.
Responding emergency crews then took the injured patients to a hospital for proper treatment.
An investigation is ongoing to determine the cause of the crash and to identify possible contributing factors.
