Duncan McQuarrie Injured in Devastating Wrong-Way Crash on Highway 85 [San Jose, CA]

2 Dead in San Jose Auto Accident on Highway 85 and Highway 87

SAN JOSE, CA (August 27, 2024) – Monday afternoon, a devastating wrong-way crash on Highway 85 and Highway 87 involved Duncan McQuarrie.

At about 3:40 p.m., the authorities received a report of a white Toyota Tacoma driving in the wrong direction on northbound Highway 85, near Saratoga Avenue.

Then, the crash occurred at 3:50 p.m. on northbound Highway 85, south of Highway 87.

According to the CHP, the truck was speeding when it collided with a Tesla, resulting in the deaths of a woman and a 14-year-old boy who were inside the Tesla. 

The driver of the pickup truck, identified as 39-year-old McQuarrie, was transported to the hospital with major injuries. 

Whether alcohol or drugs played a role in the crash is still under investigation. Authorities are asking any witnesses to contact the CHP San Jose Area Office at 408-961-0900.
