17-Year-Old Girl Dies after Crash on Highway 1 near Topanga Canyon Boulevard
MALIBU, CA (November 8, 2019) – A female teen was killed following a two-car crash Friday morning in Malibu area.
The crash happened just after 6:00 a.m. on Pacific Coast Highway near Topanga Canyon Boulevard, also known as Highway 27.
CHP officials said a red sedan was traveling on Pacific Coast Highway when it was broadsided by an SUV. As a result, the driver of the sedan died at the scene.
The Los Angeles County coroner’s office identified the victim as Dulce Maria Ramiro Sanchez, 17, of Los Angeles.
Meanwhile, paramedics transported the other driver to a hospital in an unknown condition.
There were no other occupants in either cars.
The severity of the crash led to multiple lane closures that were in place for several hours. The roads were reopened by noon.
CHP officials are currently investigating the cause of the crash.
