Suspected Drunk Driver Crashes Car into School Fence at Canton Drive
LEMON GROVE, CA (July 5, 2018) – A suspected drunk driver was hospitalized after crashing his car into a school fence in a speeding accident on Skyline Drive, early Thursday morning.
According to reports, California Highway Patrol officials attempted to stop a car for speeding at around 12:53 AM, near State Route 125 and Spring Street, chasing the suspect through Lemon Grove. The driver crashed into a fence at a nearby school at the corner of Skyline Drive and Canton Drive, shortly after 1:00 AM.
Two other people were sitting in the speeding vehicle at the time of the collision. Authorities did not immediately release more details about the incident or the parties involved, but the driver was transported to Scripps Mercy Hospital to be evaluated for DUI. No additional information has been released, as CHP officers continue to investigate the crash.
