Injuries Sustained in Hemet Car Accident
HEMET, CA (March 6, 2019) – Injuries were sustained following an alleged DUI hit-and-run car collision with one overturned vehicle on March 2.
Reports revealed that the incident trapped multiple numbers of people in the overturned pickup truck. However, good Samaritans offered help and safely freed them from the wreckage.
Meanwhile, the Hemet police officers found and arrested the two women who tried to escape the area on foot. As of now, it’s still unknown whether there were filed charges against the female driver. In addition, she’s suspected to be intoxicated when she crashed into the truck.
According to reports, the responding units were the City of Hemet Police and Fire Departments, along with other emergency personnel. They arrived on Stetson Avenue and S. Buena Vista Street about 9:00 p.m. The people who called 911 reported that victims were stuck in the overturned truck. They also said that two Hispanic female occupants of the sedan escaped the area on foot.
Upon the officials’ arrival, they located a white pickup which landed on its side against a street sign. They also found a black sedan with heavy front-end damage stopped nearby in the lanes of traffic.
The first responders found out that almost a dozen people saw the crash and helped to free the trapped victims.
During the paramedic’s evaluation and treatment of the victims, the police officers started looking for the two females who escaped the area. According to some witnesses, they last saw the two women heading north on Buena Vista Street. A few moments later, the authorities found and arrested them.
The female passenger who escaped went to an area hospital for evaluation of unknown injuries. Meanwhile, the uninjured sedan’s driver who also escaped was taken to Hemet PD for further investigation and toxicology tests.
