Oscar Martinez Detained in Palm Desert Car Accident
PALM DESERT, CA (June 8, 2019) – A DUI driver was arrested Saturday morning following a hit-and-run crash on Santa Rosa Way.
According to reports, the collision happened around 7:40 AM, near San Pablo Avenue. Dispatchers arrived to the 73600 block of Santa Rosa Way shortly after.
Police later identified the driver as 39-year-old Oscar Martinez of Palm Desert. They also say he was showing signs of intoxication at the time. However, he resisted arrest when authorities attempted to take him into custody.
Deputies eventually obtained a search warrant for a blood sample from Martinez, after he went to a local hospital for medical evaluation.
Martinez was later booked into the Riverside County Jail in Indio. He was charged with hit-and-run, DUI, resisting arrest, and driving on a suspended license as a result.
An investigation is still currently ongoing to verify all initial data. However, additional information will be released once it becomes available.
