Woman Hospitalized after Car Drives Off Roadway near Annadale Avenue

 
FRESNO, CA (June 11, 2019) – A woman suffered injuries after her car crashed into the Kings River, Tuesday evening.
 
According to Fresno County Sheriff’s officials, the incident happened near Annadale Avenue, at about 9:15 PM. A suspected DUI driver lost control of her vehicle and drove off the roadway before falling into the river.
 
The woman made it out of the water and back onto land. However, she could not communicate with the deputies properly due to impairment. Emergency responders searched the water for other possible victims. But an hour later, crews determined that the driver was the sole occupant of the vehicle.
 
A ground ambulance transported the woman to a hospital for treatment and evaluation. She will be arrested for DUI once she recovers.
