Wayne Major Arrested, Pregnant Woman Injured After Crash on Twentynine Palms Highway

Yucca Valley, CA (May 14, 2024) – A pregnant woman sustained injuries in a DUI crash on Twentynine Palms Highway and Sage Avenue.

Deputies arrested Wayne Major in Yucca Valley for DUI after he reportedly caused two crashes, one of which sent a pregnant woman to the hospital. 

Following these incidents, deputies found Major in possession of fentanyl. 

The initial crash occurred just before 4 p.m. at the intersection of Twentynine Palms Highway and Sage Avenue, where Major hit a car stopped at a red light before speeding south on Sage. 

Shortly thereafter, at the intersection of Aster Avenue and Onaga Trail, Major again failed to stop and collided with another vehicle. 

The driver of this vehicle, a late-term pregnant woman, and Major’s passenger, who sustained traumatic injuries, were both hospitalized. 

The second crash caused Major’s car to roll several times, eventually stopping in a yard. Major himself was hospitalized with major injuries and was booked after his release.

 The deputies are continuing their investigation into both crashes, and they urge anyone with information to contact the Morongo Basin Sheriff’s Station at 760-366-4175.
