Jose Hernandez Arrested After DUI Crash on South Fairfax Road in Bakersfield

Bakersfield, CA (July 5, 2024) – On Friday, police arrested Jose Hernandez for DUI after a crash on South Fairfax Road.

Authorities arrested a man after he collided with a Ford pickup north of Lamont, causing minor injuries while allegedly driving drunk, according to the CHP.

On July 5, the California Highway Patrol responded to a two-vehicle collision at the intersection of South Fairfax Road and East Panama Lane around 2:10 a.m. 

CHP Officer Tomas Martinez reported that Jose Hernandez, 28, was arrested for allegedly driving under the influence of alcohol, resulting in injuries.

The Kern County Sheriff’s Office Inmate Information page indicates that Hernandez was also driving without a license.

Hernandez was driving a black Volkswagen Jetta when he crashed into the red Ford pickup. 

The driver and two passengers in the Ford pickup sustained minor injuries, with one person taken to the hospital, according to the CHP.
