Abraham Ibarrarodriguez Arrested After DUI Crash on Highway 121 in Sonoma

Sonoma, CA (February 15, 2024) – Early Tuesday, Abraham Ibarrarodriguez, 89, of Vallejo, was arrested after a DUI head-on crash on Highway 121.

Reportedly, authorities airlifted two drivers to hospitals, and officers cited one for suspicion of felony driving under the influence following an early Tuesday head-on crash in Sonoma County. 

California Highway Patrol-Napa reported that the driver of a Ford Fusion, heading south on Highway 121 shortly before 12:30 a.m., allowed his vehicle to drift into the northbound lane near Sears Point, leading to a collision with a northbound Toyota Highlander. The impact caused the Fusion to roll onto the east shoulder.

Responding to the scene, the CHP, along with medical and fire personnel, closed the road to facilitate the extraction of both drivers, who sustained major injuries, from their vehicles. 

Officials airlifted one driver to Sutter Santa Rosa Regional Hospital and the other to Providence Santa Rosa Memorial Hospital.

 A subsequent visit by a CHP officer to one of the drivers, Ibarrarodriguez, led to the determination that he had been under the influence at the time of the collision. This resulted in his citation for suspicion of felony DUI causing injury.

As of Wednesday, Ibarrarodriguez remained in the hospital due to his injuries, with the CHP continuing their investigation into the collision.
