Castaic, CA (May 30, 2024) – CHP investigates a two-vehicle DUI crash on 5 Freeway.

At around 7:45 p.m. on Monday, California Highway Patrol (CHP) Newhall officers received reports of a two-vehicle crash on the southbound 5 Freeway, north of Hasley Canyon Road in Castaic.

“Newhall area personnel arrived at the scene and observed a white Ford van that had crashed into an Audi SUV,” Greengard said. “CHP officers made contact with the driver of the Ford van and observed signs and symptoms of intoxication.”

Officers arrested Dylan Gujral, 28, from San Francisco, for felony DUI due to the possible injuries sustained by the occupants of the Audi SUV, Greengard reported.

“After the arrest, during the vehicle inventory of Gujral’s Ford van, officers located drugs and drug paraphernalia within the vehicle,” Greengard said.

Gujral was booked into the Santa Clarita Valley Sheriff’s Station for felony DUI and possession of a controlled substance for sale, according to Greengard.
