Mark Borboa Arrested after DUI Crash on 12th Avenue in Hanford

Hanford, CA (November 18, 2023) – On Friday evening, two people sustained injuries in a crash on 12th Avenue. 

Reportedly, at around 9:20 p.m., police responded to an injury collision at the 12th Avenue and Highway 198 eastbound off-ramp. 

Witness statements revealed that Mark Borboa, 68, was driving his truck southbound on 12th Avenue, approaching the red light at the off-ramp of Highway 198. Allegedly failing to stop at the signal, Borboa collided with a sedan occupied by a 19-year-old driver and a 16-year-old passenger, who was making a northbound turn onto 12th Avenue.

Detectives found that Borboa broadsided the sedan at a significant speed, causing it to spin. He continued southbound, jumped onto the center median, and re-entered the southbound lane of 12th Avenue, colliding with the sedan once again. 

Both occupants in the sedan sustained moderate injuries and were taken to a local hospital.

Police discovered open alcohol bottles in Borboa’s truck and suspected him of driving under the influence. He also suffered a broken hip and was transported to a local hospital. 

Officers indicated that Borboa may face charges under suspicion of felony DUI.
