Driver Killed, Passenger Seriously Hurt in Head-On Crash on Fiddyment Road
Roseville, CA (September 25, 2021) – A head-on crash on Fiddyment Road left a driver dead and a passenger seriously hurt on Thursday afternoon.
The fatal collision happened on September 23 on Fiddyment Road, south of Sunset Boulevard at about 3:30 p.m.
The California Highway Patrol responded to the scene and reported that the crash involved a Honda and a semi-truck.
Auburn-area CHP said that the Honda driver was traveling southbound on Fiddyment when he lost control. As a result, the vehicle swerved into the path of the oncoming semi-truck. The two vehicles collided head-on.
Emergency personnel extricated both the Honda driver and his passenger— both men from the wreck. CHP reported that both of them were unconscious when transported to a hospital.
Later, the driver of the Honda succumbed to his injuries.
Meanwhile, the driver of the semi-truck did not report any injuries from the incident.
Due to the extent of the collision, authorities closed Fiddyment Road in both directions. Furthermore, officers said that drugs may be a factor in the collision.
