Man Falls Asleep and Rear-Ends Sedan near Cherry Canyon
SANTA CLARITA, CA (February 19, 2019) – A drowsy driving incident had led to a rear-end crash on southbound 5 Freeway, Tuesday morning.
According to the California Highway Patrol, the collision took place at approximately 5:29 AM, near Cherry Canyon. Based on their report, the male driver of a silver 2017 Chevrolet Camaro admitted that he fell asleep while driving and struck the back of a blue Nissan sedan.
The paramedics were called for needed medical attention. They had not yet confirmed about any injury or complaint of pain from the involved motorists.
An immediate hazard was released, closing the No. 4 lane. A clearing operation was performed in the area. An investigation is ongoing to determine liabilities. Additional information has not been released to the public.
