Drivers Transported in Coors Boulevard Collision [Albuquerque, NM]

Albuquerque, NM (August 15, 2024) – Two drivers were transported following a Coors Boulevard collision Wednesday night.

It was about 8:30 p.m. when the collision between a Honda Civic and a Jeep Wrangler happened on Montano Road NW.

Albuquerque Police said the Honda Civic traveling south on Coors Boulevard in the eastbound turn bay to Mirandela Street. 

At the same time, a Jeep Wrangler was north on Coors Boulevard with no headlights on. 

The Honda turned in front of the Jeep and the two vehicles collided. 

The Jeep driver was thrown from the vehicle and sustained severe injuries to one of his legs. 

Moreover, the rescuers also took the Honda driver for a precautionary medical assessment.

Troopers said the Honda driver did not show signs of impairment and consider speed as the primary contributing factor in the collision.

Yield right of way. It is important to understand the right of way. Be sure to yield to drivers who have the right of way. However, it is safe to never assume that all drivers know the rules. Only proceed when it is safe to do so.
