Drivers Killed in Interstate 82 Vehicle Collision [Benton County, WA]

Benton County, WA (November 13, 2023) – Two drivers lost their lives following an Interstate 82 vehicle collision early Sunday morning.

The fatal collision happened around 2:30 a.m. on the eastbound freeway at milepost 99.

According to the investigators, a 20-year-old man was driving an Audi westbound on the eastbound lanes.

At the same time, a 76-year-old man was driving a Chevy truck, a 34-year-old man was driving a GMC SUV, and a 24-year-old man was driving a Ram truck. They are eastbound on I-82.

The Audi driver struck the Chevy head-on. Afterward, the Ram and the GMC also struck the Chevy.

Unfortunately, the Audi and the Chevy drivers both died at the scene.

The 34-year-old man driving the GMC and his 37-year-old female passenger were transported to Kadlec Regional Medical Center. 

The 24-year-old man driving the Ram was was not injured in the collision.

Police said drugs or alcohol were involved but they are still investigating.
