Clarkston Big Rig Crash Injures Two People

Asotin County, WA (October 5, 2024) – Two drivers were injured following a Redwolf Bridge collision Wednesday morning.

It was about 10:15 a.m. when the collision between a semi-truck and a car happened in Clarkston.

Troopers said a logging truck and a passenger van collided head-on and ended up in the westbound lane of the freeway.

Rescuers said the log truck driver was out of his truck, but the car driver had to be extricated from his vehicle.

Immediately, the rescuers rushed both drivers to a hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.

The authorities are investigating the cause of the collision.

Distracted driving can be defined as anything that takes your attention away from driving, including talking or texting on your phone, eating, drinking, talking to people in your vehicle, fiddling with the stereo, entertainment system, or navigation system – any activity that distracts you from driving safely.

There is no doubt that texting is one of the most alarming distractions. Sending or reading a text takes your eyes off the road for 5 seconds.

You cannot drive safely unless you use your full attention. Any non-driving activity you do is a potential distraction and increases your risk of crashing.
