Ritzville Wrong-Way Crash Sends Drivers To Hospital

Ritzville, WA (November 14, 2023) – Two drivers were injured following an Interstate 90 DUI collision Monday morning.

WSP officers said the traffic collision happened around 11:00 p.m. about 18 miles east of Ritzville.

Investigators said an eastbound car on the westbound lanes of the freeway struck a westbound car head-on.

The car that was struck spun and rolled before it finally rested on the right side of the freeway.

The vehicle that struck rested in the median.

Immediately, the responding medical team rushed both drivers to Sacred Heart Medical Center.

Moreover, WSP officers said the cause of the Interstate 90 DUI collision was the wrong-way driver.

Police said the driver of the car that was hit was under the influence at the time of the crash and is facing DUI charges while the charges against the first driver are under investigation.

Do Not Drink And Drive

The perverse actions of a reckless driver can increase the likelihood of traffic collisions. If you are a driver, pay close attention to those around you. Always keep a considerable distance from others just in case harm is near.

Always practice safe driving skills and never drink if you are driving.
