Highway 44 Vehicle Crash Injuries

Shasta County, CA (August 28, 2021) – On Monday, two drivers suffered injuries in Highway 44 vehicle crash.

The traffic crash took place at about 5:45 p.m. on Highway 44 just west of Deschutes Road.

Investigating officers said a 2013 Kia was westbound on Highway 44. Just then, the vehicle crossed over the double yellow line and went into oncoming path of a 2015 Toyota.

After the two vehicle crashed, the Kia spun in the roadway and was struck by a 2013 Honda, which was traveling behind the Toyota.

The force of that crash sheared the Kia in half.

A 2017 Subaru traveling behind the Honda was unable to prevent the crash and received minor damage.

Rescuers took the Kia and Honda drivers to the hospital with moderate injuries.

Officers said they were both wearing seatbelts during the crash.

Similarly, the other two drivers suffered minor injuries.

Meanwhile, the authorities said alcohol was not a factor in the accident.

The perverse actions of a reckless driver can increase the likelihood of traffic collisions. If you are a driver, pay close attention to those around you.

Always keep a considerable distance from others just in case harm is near.
