2 Drivers Injured in Winchester Rollover Crash

 
WINCHESTER, CA (June 17, 2019) – Two drivers suffered injuries Tuesday afternoon in a rollover crash on Winchester Road and Patterson Avenue.
 
Officials said they received multiple reports of the crash at about 3:30 p.m. The driver of the grey Toyota Avalon was northbound on Winchester Road when he failed to negotiate a curve in the roadway. The car then drifted onto the dirt shoulder, fishtailed, and careened across the two-lane road. That’s where it sideswiped an oncoming dark-colored Ford Fiesta.
 
The California Highway Patrol and other emergency personnel responded to the crash at around 3:30 p.m. They received multiple 911 calls, including one from an off-duty law enforcement officer.
 
Officers found both vehicles resting on their roofs when they arrived at the scene. The Toyota was off the roadway, while the Ford was near the center of the two-lane road. The crash caused a temporary roadblock on both sides of the roadway. Other drivers used the dirt shoulders to pass the overturned vehicles.
 
Numerous witnesses and good Samaritans stopped at the scene of the crash, including the officer and an off-duty nurse. They helped the two drivers get out of their damaged vehicles.
 
Both vehicles were later towed from the scene. In the meantime, the CHP’s investigation of the crash is ongoing.
