Drivers Hospitalized in Newport Road Multi-Vehicle Collision [Menifee, CA]

Menifee, CA (September 29, 2022) – On Tuesday, a Newport Road multi-vehicle collision seriously injured two drivers.

The three-vehicle collision took place at about 3:05 p.m. in the area of Berea Road.

A westbound Ford SUV driven by a 41-year-old Menifee man on Newport Road ran a red light. He broadsided a southbound BMW SUV driven by a 41-year-old female also from Menifee, who had a green light from Berea Road.

The impact of the collision pushed the female’s vehicle into a Chrysler sedan driven by a 55-year-old Menifee woman in a turn lane on eastbound Newport Road.

Responding officers extricated the BMW driver from her vehicle and performed CPR on the driver until paramedics arrived to take over treatment.

Then, paramedics transported both the Ford and BMW drivers to a hospital in critical condition.

Meanwhile, the paramedics also took the third driver to a hospital as a precaution.

Based on the authorities’ investigation, they believe DUI played a role in the crash on Berea Road
