Drivers Die in 215 Freeway Head-On Collision [Riverside, CA]

Riverside, CA (March 15, 2022) – On Tuesday, two drivers sustained fatal injuries in a 215 Freeway head-on collision.

The authorities responded to the crash scene at about 1 a.m. on the freeway’s northbound lanes near the Washington Street exit.

According to the officers, a gray Honda Civic was driven by a female driver traveling in the wrong direction. Afterward, her vehicle crashed into a gray Ford Fusion, driven by a male driver. 

The male and female drivers died at the crash scene.

“They don’t even look like cars. It’s just like pieces of metal on opposite sides of the freeway,” witness Korina Lopez said. “I was freaking out. I was shaking, I couldn’t believe what I just saw. I just instantly started praying for the people in the cars.”

Moreover, investigators found child seats in both of the vehicles. Though, they only found the drivers inside the vehicles during the incident.

Troopers withheld both of the two deceaseds’ identities pending notification of their families.

Meanwhile, the officers are still investigating this fatal Riverside accident.
