Driver Suffers Major Injuries in Highway 99 Big Rig Crash [Chino, CA]

Chino, CA (August 27, 2021) – On Thursday, a driver suffered major injuries in Highway 99 big rig crash.

The accident took place minutes before 2:30 a.m. on the southbound freeway near East Avenue.

Investigating officers said a pick-up truck encountered engine problems and was partially blocking the freeway’s right lane. 

The driver got out of the vehicle to work on its engine.

However, a southbound semi-truck crashed into the stopped vehicle, and pushed it off the road down the embankment. 

Rescuers immediately took the driver to the hospital with major injuries. 

Reports said markings on the truck showed it was associated with Sierra Pacific Industries in Anderson.
