Accident on 5 Freeway Kills Driver

 
TACOMA, WA (July 31, 2019) – A driver was struck and killed by his own truck in an accident on 5 Freeway northbound, Wednesday morning. The identity of the victim was not yet released.
 
According to the Washington State Patrol Troopers, the collision took place near Pacific Avenue just after 8:00 AM. Based on an initial report, the driver pulled over to make repairs to his vehicle. The man was under the truck when began to move and rolled over him.
 
A coroner declared the driver dead at the scene. No further details were immediately known.
 
Police did not release any other information regarding the crash at this time. Authorities conducted a clearing operation in the area. However, the crash is still currently under investigation.
