Driver of Stolen Vehicle Arrested after Police Pursuit on Hawthorne Boulevard and Palos Verdes Drive [Palos Verdes, CA]

1 Arrested in Palos Verdes Car Accident

PALOS VERDES, CA (January 28, 2019) – A driver of an alleged stolen vehicle was arrested after a police pursuit which ended with a crash on January 26.

The CHP revealed that the driver was behind the wheel of a suspected stolen vehicle.

The pursuit began in Huntington Park before heading south and entering Long Beach. Then, the chase went through Wilmington and into Torrance.

According to reports, the vehicle stopped several times and appeared to be ending the chase, but the driver continued to accelerate away from the police.

The pursuit vehicle then drove into the South Bay, heading into Redondo Beach and up the hill to the Palos Verdes Peninsula. Due to this, the police tried to execute a PIT maneuver, but the vehicle went away from a trio of officers that had their guns drawn.

After heading on Palos Verdes Drive North, the pursuit vehicle crashed with another car at the intersection of Hawthorne Boulevard and Palos Verdes Drive North in Palos Verdes Estates.

Police officers took this time to break the vehicle’s windows and dragged the driver out of the truck, which ended the chase.
