Officers Respond to Chula Vista Fatal Collision

Chula Vista, CA (August 31, 2022) – On Tuesday night, a pickup driver and passenger sustained fatal injuries in a crash on Brandywine Avenue.

According to the authorities, they received a report from someone who heard gunshots at about 7:50 p.m. on Brandywine Avenue.

Minutes later, they also received a report from another caller who heard a collision.

Immediately, the officers responded to the scene and located the driver and a passenger, both adults, unconscious in the pickup. The officers say the pickup truck had smashed into a parked van and then to an embankment.

The emergency rescuers provided CPR on the driver and the passenger, who also has gunshot wounds and other serious injuries. Then, the paramedics rushed both of them to a hospital, where they succumbed to their injuries.

Moreover, the authorities investigating this case located the shooting scene on Sequoia Street, approximately a quarter-mile from the crash scene. Police recovered spent shell casings at the scene.

Investigators believe the pickup collided while fleeing the shooting location. They did not say if the victims were shot while they were in the pickup.

In the meantime, the authorities are still investigating the Chula Vista fatal collision. They withheld the two deceased’s identities pending notification of kin.
