Fatal Auburn Accident on State Route 18 near Auburn-Black Diamond Road

 
AUBURN, WA (March 1, 2021) – Thursday night, a driver died in a wrong-way crash on State Route 18 near Auburn-Black Diamond Road.
 
The authorities received a report of an SUV heading west in the eastbound lanes of State Route 18 just before 7:30 p.m.
 
Afterward, the SUV crashed head-on with a minivan near Auburn-Black Diamond Road. The impact sent the minivan into a barrier and onto its side until it caught fire.
 
Meanwhile, responders found out that the minivan driver succumbed to injuries at the scene. Meanwhile, the SUV driver suffered critical injuries and was airlifted to Harborview Medical Center in Seattle.
 
The authorities said that the 39-year-old male SUV driver will be detained for investigation of vehicular homicide. At this time, the authorities haven’t determined why the driver traveled the wrong way.
 
At this time, the authorities are withholding the identity of the deceased due to pending family notification.
 
Moreover, the road remained closed for multiple hours during the investigation and has reopened before midnight.
