1 Dead in San Miguel Accident on Highway 101 near San Marcos Road

 
SAN MIGUEL, CA (September 23, 2021) – Wednesday, a driver died in a pickup truck crash on Highway 101 near San Marcos Road.
 
The incident happened at about 12:45 p.m. on Highway 101 near San Marcos Road.
 
According to reports, as the truck traveled north, the vehicle experienced a tire failure. Thus, the driver hit the brakes and veered to the left. As a result, the truck drove across the center median into the southbound lanes. Then, it overturned and partially pinning the driver.
 
Afterward, responders took the 38-year-old male driver from San Miguel to Sierra Vista Regional Medical Center. However, he later succumbed to his injuries.
 
Meanwhile, the CHP confirmed that one of the two passengers sustained a broken arm and possibly broken shoulder. Moreover, the other passenger complained of pain and had received at the scene.
 
Also, the authorities haven’t disclosed the identity of the deceased due to pending family notification.
