Pickup Truck Plunges Down Ravine after Collision near Mina de Oro Road
POWAY, CA (August 28, 2018) – A driver was killed Tuesday evening after a pickup truck crash on Highway 67. The victim’s identity was not immediately released by the authorities, pending notification of next of kin.
A report from the California Highway Patrol said that the collision happened at approximately 7:15 PM in the 15400 block of Highway 67 near Mina de Oro Road.
According to San Diego County Sheriff’s officials, the victim lost control of his Toyota Tundra truck along a curve in the roadway and took out a street sign. It then plowed through bushes and rolled over down an embankment, before landing upside down in the ravine.
The male driver was ejected from the vehicle and pronounced dead at the scene by emergency responders. Any witnesses with additional information are urged to contact the police. No further details have been disclosed as the investigation continues, as the crash remains under investigation at this time.
