South Lake Tahoe Man Fatally Injured in Multi-Car Crash near Victoria Island

TRACY, CA (August 9, 2018) – A man was killed Thursday morning, following a multi-vehicle collision on Highway 4. The identity of the deceased victim was not immediately released by officials, pending notification of next of kin.

According to the California Highway Patrol, the incident took place shortly after 8:30 AM near Victoria Island. A 1998 Lexus was pulling from the shoulder onto eastbound Highway 4 when it lost control and sideswiped a GMC.

The vehicle continued out of control and hit a second vehicle, before crashing into an irrigational canal.

The 24-year-old South Lake Tahoe man driving the Lexus sustained fatal injuries and was pronounced dead at the scene by emergency responders. Meanwhile, other people involved in the crash were reportedly unharmed. An investigation is ongoing to determine the cause of the fatal collision and to identify possible contributing factors.
