16-Year-Old Driver Killed in Vehicle Collision on McGregror Lane [Hays County, TX]

Texas DPS Investigates Fatal Crash near Martin Road

Hays County, TX (March 3, 2023) – On Monday evening, a 16-year-old boy died after a vehicle collision on McGregror Lane.

Texas DPS says that the fatal crash happened near Martin Road at about 9:20 p.m. 

Reports say that a southbound vehicle crossed into the northbound lane in a no-passing zone, directly into the path of a northbound 2007 Highlander, driven by the 16-year-old. 

Officials say that the boy attempted to swerve to avoid a collision with the wrong-way vehicle. However, the 16-year-old swerved off the road, then a branch went into the windshield and hit the teenage driver. 

Afterward, officials pronounced the teen dead at the scene.

DPS is investigating the fatal crash and has not released additional information at this time.
