1 Dead after Vehicle Slams into Pole near Frank Cox Road
MODESTO, CA (March 29, 2019) – A driver lost his life Friday afternoon following a non-contact hit-and-run crash on Highway 33. Authorities did not release the identity of the victim, pending family notification.
According to the California Highway Patrol, the incident happened shortly after 2:00 PM. A Ford van was approaching the intersection at Frank Cox Road when the Chevrolet Tahoe made a left turn. The Ford van swerved to avoid the collision and struck a pole.
Unfortunately, the driver of the van succumbed to injuries sustained in the crash. No other injuries were reported by the authorities.
An investigation is ongoing to determine the whereabouts of the suspect vehicle, described as a white Chevrolet Tahoe with custom rims and a slight lift. Anyone with information is asked to call CHP’s non-emergency line at (209) 356-2900. Further details will be released once they become available.
