Auburn Head-On Collision on Highway 49 Kills Doughnut Truck Driver
AUBURN, CA (October 22, 2019) — A head-on collision on Highway 49 left a doughnut truck driver dead Tuesday morning.
The authorities said the incident happened near the intersection with New Airport Road before 6 a.m. Involved were a black pickup truck and a white doughnut van.
The driver of the doughnut truck died at the scene, while the driver of the pickup truck sustained minor injuries.
The California Highway Patrol reduced the traffic on Highway 49 into one lane in each direction following the crash. The highway reopened fully after about an hour.
The investigation of the crash is ongoing.
