Driver Killed in Crash on Interstate 5 and Laval Road [Bakersfield, CA]

1 Dead in Bakersfield Auto Accident on Interstate 5

 
BAKERSFIELD, CA (September 15, 2020) – Monday morning, a driver died in a crash on northbound Interstate 5 and Laval Road.
 
According to the California Highway Patrol, the driver was speeding at about 7:00 a.m. on 5 Freeway at Grapevine Road. Thus, a Kern County Sheriff’s deputy attempted to stop him.
 
As the deputy stopped the vehicle, the driver fled. The deputy didn’t chase the driver because of due to the gap between them and the driver.
 
However, as the deputy entered Laval Road, they found the same vehicle engulfed in fire.
 
They later discovered that the impact of the crash threw off the driver and left him with fatal injuries.
 
The authorities are still investigating the cause of the crash.
