1 Dead in Merced Auto Accident on Highway 99 and Franklin Road

 
MERCED, CA (October 20, 2022) – Wednesday afternoon, a driver died in a rollover crash on Highway 99 and Franklin Road.
 
The incident happened in the first lane of northbound Highway 99, north of Franklin Road. According to the reports, a sedan had overturned off the road and sustained major rollover damage.
 
When the CHP arrived, they determined that a 67-year-old driver traveled along the first lane at an unknown speed. Then, the driver veered their car to the right. As a result, the sedan went off the east shoulder of the 99, causing it to roll multiple times.
 
Moreover, the 47-year-old front-seat passenger sustained moderate injuries and was taken to a local hospital. Meanwhile, the driver succumbed to injuries at the scene.
 
At this time, the authorities do not believe that drugs or alcohol played a role in the crash. Moreover, they haven’t determined whether the victims wore a seatbelt at the time of the incident.
