1 Dead in Bakersfield Auto Accident on Highway 46 and Highway 33
BAKERSFIELD, CA (May 10, 2022) – Saturday afternoon, a driver died in a two-vehicle crash on Highway 46 and Highway 33 near Lost Hills.
The incident happened at about 2:10 p.m. on Highway 46 and Highway 33.
According to reports, the GMC driver headed east on Highway 46 at around 70 mph. Meanwhile, the tanker trailer driver headed north on Highway 33 at around 10 mph.
As the big rig tried to turn left, the GMC failed to yield at the red light and collided with the tanker trailer.
After the crash, responders declared the GMC driver dead at the scene. Meanwhile, responders took the passenger to the hospital with moderate injuries.
At this time, the authorities do not believe that alcohol/drugs played a role in the crash.
