1 Dead in San Jose Auto Accident on Highway 101 and Capitol Expressway

 
SAN JOSE, CA (May 3, 2022) – Sunday morning, a driver died in a two-vehicle crash on Highway 101 and Capitol Expressway.
 
The incident occurred at around 6:15 a.m. on southbound Highway 101, north of Capitol Expressway.
 
According to reports, a 43-year-old male driver of a blue Lexus traveled in the right lane. Then, it came up behind a white box truck that had stopped because of heavy traffic.
 
Reports confirmed that the Lexus driver traveled at a high speed and couldn’t stop in time. As a result, he crashed into the back of the truck.
 
After the crash, responders took the Lexus driver to Regional Medical Center with major injuries. However, he succumbed to his injuries at about 10:00 a.m. At this time, his identity remains undisclosed due to pending family notification.
 
Moreover, the crash shut down the two right lanes of southbound 101 for two hours during the investigation.
