Tractor-Trailer Carrying Peaches Crashes into Motor Home near Power Line Road

NICOLAUS, CA (August 11, 2018) – A man was killed Saturday afternoon after a motorhome was struck by a semi-truck on Highway 99. His name and place of residence were not immediately released to the public, pending notification of family members.

According to the California Highway Patrol, the collision happened at about 2:15 PM near Power Line Road. A northbound motorhome hauling a minivan was attempting to turn left when it was T-boned by a southbound tractor-trailer that was pulling a double trailer carrying 50,000 pounds of peaches.

Meanwhile, the driver of the tractor-trailer was transported to the UC Davis Medical Center with unspecified injuries.

Affected areas were temporarily shut down for approximately six hours to make way for an investigation and to initiate clearing operations. No additional information has been disclosed at this time.
