CHP Investigates Fatal Crash on Elverta Road and Watt Avenue in Antelope
Antelope, CA (December 22, 2022) – Early Thursday morning, one person died, and four others sustained injuries in a deadly crash on Elverta Road and Watt Avenue.
The fatal crash in Antelope happened around 2 a.m. on December 22.
CHP said a 19-year-old driving a white Mazda was heading westbound on Elverta Road when they T-boned an on-duty sheriff’s deputy heading northbound on Watt Avenue.
The Mazda driver was ejected from the vehicle. EMS rushed the driver to a hospital, where they later died.
Three Mazda passengers were also sent to a hospital with minor to major injuries.
Investigators said none of the Mazda occupants wore their seatbelts.
Meanwhile, the sheriff’s deputy also had minor injuries and was sent to a hospital.
According to CHP, it is unclear if drugs or alcohol played a role in the collision.
Further investigation into this crash is ongoing.
