Toyota Driver Juan Reyes Killed in Interstate 10 Collision [Indio, CA]

Indio, CA (July 15, 2024) – 41-year-old Juan Reyes of Palm Springs has died in an Interstate 10 collision early Sunday morning.

The authorities received the crash report at 2:40 a.m. east of Jefferson Street.

CHP officers said a 2022 Jeep Wrangler was traveling east in the westbound lane.  

At the same time, a 2024 Toyota Corolla driven by Reyes was westbound east of Jefferson Street. 

Reyes took evasive action to the right and into another lane of traffic to avoid colliding with the Jeep.  

Similarly, the jeep also took evasive action to avoid a collision.  

However, the front of the jeep has collided with the front of the Toyota. 

Unfortunately, Juan Reyes, was declared deceased on scene. 

The authorities arrested the Jeep driver for suspicion of driving under the influence of alcohol.

Two other people were rushed to a hospital with moderate injuries.  

Troopers are investigating the fatal collision.
