Injury in Ridgefield Tractor-Trailer Crash

Ridgefield, WA (July 20, 2021) – On Monday, a driver was injured in Interstate 5 tractor-trailer collision.

The Washington State Patrol, along with the other teams, responded to the scene at about 9:56 a.m. near Exit 14.

Officers said one of the tractor-trailer was carrying a load of pallets.

One of the trucks involved drifted off the highway and caught fire. The fire spread to the other truck and surrounding brush.

Luckily, crews were able to contain most of the fire’s damage to one truck.

Consequently, emergency responders took one driver to the hospital with non-fatal injuries.

Moreover, troopers closed two of the three northbound lanes, but reopened them as of 11:15 a.m.

Always perform simple safety checks before you leave.

Start by inspecting your vehicle’s headlights and turn signals, be sure that both front and rear headlamps are working properly and visible enough a couple of yards away.

Also, take a reading of your tire pressure and make sure you maintain the recommended maximum. While at it, take a peek under your vehicle and ensure there are no loose objects or leaks.
