Stolen Motorcycle Crash, Driver Dies on Florida and Lyon Avenue in Hemet

Hemet, CA (May 5, 2022) – Thursday morning, a driver sustained injuries, and the man suspected of speeding a stolen motorcycle died in a crash on Florida and Lyon avenues.

The fatal crash in Hemet happened at around 10:30 a.m. on May 5.

Hemet Police said a man stole a motorcycle and crashed with a white PT Cruiser. 

Reportedly, the rider struck a white PT Cruiser driving west on Florida in the No. 1 lane in a broadside collision. The rider was ejected from the motorcycle and landed on top of a Ford that was stopped, facing south in the southbound lane of Lyon.

EMS took the suspect to a regional trauma center, where he died. The PT Cruiser driver suffered a minor injury to one of his wrists and was also taken for treatment.

Moreover, police said the motorcycle was confirmed stolen from within the city on Wednesday.

Further investigation into this fatal crash is ongoing.
