Driver Hurt in Soledad Canyon DUI Auto Crash in Santa Clarita
Santa Clarita, CA (June 04, 2020) – On Thursday early morning, one unidentified driver injured in a DUI auto crash in Soledad Canyon Road and Sand Canyon Road.
The crash occurred at 12:09 a.m. on June 4. Reportedly, a man was driving recklessly hit a median and almost hit other vehicles. He was suspected of driving drunk. Santa Clarita deputies then attempted to conduct a traffic stop. However, the man didn’t stop leading deputies on a pursuit.
Moreover, the fleeing suspect went about 3 miles before coming to a stop when he collided with another occupied vehicle at the intersection of Soledad Canyon Road and Sand Canyon Road around 12:09 a.m. He fled the scene again on foot.
Finally, after the suspect’s run to the nearby Highway 14 on-ramp, officers detained him. Police confirmed he was driving under the influence.
Meanwhile, Los Angeles County Fire Department personnel also responded to reports of the traffic collision, followed by a medical emergency in the same area, ultimately transporting the driver of the other vehicle to a nearby hospital with minor injuries at 12:35 a.m.
Furthermore, Police have yet to disclose the identity of those involved.
