Driver Injured in Solo-Vehicle Crash on 15 Freeway [Cajon Pass, CA]

Man Hospitalized after Car Falls Down Embankment near Highway 138

 
CAJON PASS, CA (March 5, 2019) – A man suffered injuries early Tuesday morning following a solo-vehicle crash on 15 Freeway. Authorities did not disclose the identity of the victim to the public.
 
According to the California Highway Patrol, the incident happened shortly after 4:00 AM. A vehicle veered off to the left side of the freeway and down a ravine due to unknown circumstances.
 
Firefighters arrived and located the driver and his vehicle 100 feet down a steep embankment. They requested an airship to transport the driver to a trauma center for a broken femur. CHP officers shut down affected areas for approximately 10 minutes and allowed the airship to land on the freeway.
 
An investigation is ongoing to determine the cause of the crash and to identify possible contributing factors. Additional information will be released once it becomes available.
