Driver Injured in Single-Vehicle Crash on Genesee Avenue [San Diego, CA]

2 Hospitalized in San Diego Car Accident on Genesee Avenue

 
SAN DIEGO, CA (March 22, 2021) – Sunday morning, a driver and passenger sustained injuries in a single-vehicle crash on Genesee Avenue in San Diego, California.
 
According to California Highway Patrol, at around 9:10 a.m., responders from San Diego Fire-Rescue Department, San Diego police, and CHP rushed to the scene of a single-vehicle crash on University City.
 
Reports revealed that a Scion was attempting to exit Genesee Avenue. Then, it went up a steep embankment on the right shoulder and went airborne. Eventually, it crashed into a fence before coming into rest on its roof.
 
Furthermore, responding firefighters had to extricate the male driver trapped inside the vehicle. Paramedics transported the driver to Scripps La Jolla Hospital with major injuries.
 
Also, authorities said that two people were injured in the crash. Apparently, a female passenger rode with the driver at the time of the Genesee Avenue accident. Medical personnel also took her to the hospital.
