Phillip Bruce Lorden Arrested in Hit-And-Run Crash on Samish Way in Bellingham
Bellingham, WA (January 14, 2022) – Monday evening, one driver was hurt in a hit-and-run DUI crash on Samish Way.
Subsequently, police arrested the 56-year-old Phillip Bruce Lorden with suspicion of 2nd-degree driving while license suspended, hit and run of an attended vehicle, DUI, and 2nd-degree unlawful possession of a firearm.
The crash happened at around 6:50 p.m. on January 10.
Reportedly, Lorden fled the head-on crash with a 2020 Ford EcoSport subcompact SUV and the driver suffered from chest and neck pain. Lorden did not stop and continued northbound until ending up in the ditch
Moreover, Lorden was also believed to have been involved in another hit-and-run crash.
Records have shown that Lorden had previously been found guilty of 3rd-degree assault and felony harassment in 2010 and unlawful possession of a firearm in 2017.
Further, during the preliminary appearance in court on January 11th, prosecutors asked the court to set Lorden’s bond at $25,000. The defense objected and asked for $2,500 or $250 in cash. The court set the bond at $7,000 or $700 in cash.
Lorden posted $700 in cash and was released from custody later that day. He is scheduled to return to court for an arraignment hearing on January 28th.
