Injuries Reported in Mountlake Terrace Accident on Interstate 5 and 220th Street
MOUNTLAKE TERRACE, WA (March 30, 2021) – Monday morning, a driver suffered injuries in a multi-vehicle crash on Interstate 5 and 220th Street.
The incident occurred on Interstate 5, near the exit to 220th Street SW, said Trooper Rocky Oliphant.
According to reports, the first car slowed for traffic. However, another car rear-ended the first car. The impact led to a chain-reaction crash with the three vehicles behind them. As a result, one of the vehicles was wedged under an SUV.
Oliphant confirmed that the rear section of the black Range Rover was perched when the driver hit their brakes. It happened just as the nose of the red vehicle went down when its driver also braked. Thus, the red car went underneath the Range Rover.
Responders transported one of the drivers to a local hospital with non-life-threatening injuries. Also, the four drivers behind the original slowing vehicle received citations for driving too closely.
Moreover, the collision shut down two lanes during the investigation and clearing operation.
